Lunar olive groves

Not far from Novalja, you have the opportunity to break away from the modern world and enter the 400 hectares of pure nature and past that is remembered by about 80,000 wild olive trees. For some trees, that past means millennia: the oldest olive tree in the Lunar Olive Gardens is more than 2000 years old, making it one of the three oldest olive trees in the world, along with trees from Greece and Israel.

This area of wild olives is the only one of its kind in the Adriatic and has been declared a botanical reserve. To walk this olive grove means to experience the untouched corner of the Mediterranean.
